Olympic way is the main approach to Wembley Stadium from Wembley Park station and on an event day it up to 90,000 people may pass through it. As part of the ongoing regeneration of the Wembley area, Lorclon have been contracted by Volker Fitzpatrick to complete the upgrade works to Olympic Way.
The principal requirement of our clients was to impose a minimum amount of disruption to the public using Olympic Way on a daily basis and for event days during the construction works. This was achieved by consultation with the client and shareholders before the project commenced to produce a suitable phasing plan used to complete the works.
The project has been divided into Three phases, the first of which was completed at the end of April 2018. Phase two is currently in progress and is set to be completed in June 2019, with phase 3 commencing after the 2020 Euro football finals.
To date, large infrastructure works have been installed, including 15km of ducting, 13m high lighting column, new trees and over 8000m² of paving.
